Front Yard Empty Re: Front Yard

Post by Asinine-A Thu Sep 03, 2015 5:49 pm

<< Common Room >> Halls (skipped) >> Front Yard

A couldn't help but laugh at B's words as he pushed the front door open and was greeted by a gush of warm air. The weatherman wasn't lying when he said it'd be humid. He grimaced a little, but continued outside anyways. At least the sky had some clouds and therefore, shade.
"When I get us killed with politeness, feel free to push my soul down to Hell." He grinned sheepishly. "Or drag it there, since you'd be going too, after all."

"I'll take a note not forget and bargain with angels the best I can. But they might be reluctant to give you to me." He chuckled, stretching a bit and squinting at the light, the sun wasn't exactly shining all around, but it was still much brighter than the inside. B made his way down the steps following A, and headed for the trees, more shade. "Ek, why can't the weather always just be pleasant?"

A followed B in step, always preferring the other to make decisions most of the time. Besides, B somehow knew where the shadiest, coolest parts were and which ones weren't also overrun with bugs- one of A's least favorite things in the world.
"I'm sure they'll let you take my soul! By now yours has rubbed off on mine and we're both in for it." He laughed. "Besides, I bet Heaven would be dull anyways."

"You'll get bored with all the saints and innocent people after living with me huh?" Beyond laughed and once they were in the shaded of the trees he plopped down under one of them, one of the roots that is sticking out of the ground is rather decorated by somebody's patterns, half of them he didn't remember carving so he supposed that someone else joined in. Just to be sure he reached under the root into the little hollow in the ground to make sure that his pocket knife, which he nearly got confiscated once, is still there. It is.

A laughed as he joined B underneath the thick branches of the tree. He settled against the trunk and yawned, still a bit tired from waking so early. One would think that by this point he'd be used to it, but his body was fragile and even after years of routine, he fell into deep states of tiredness quite often.
"Of course. What fun could I possibly have up there without you around to wreak havoc?"

"You would not have any fun. It's that simple. They should hire me to make it fun for everybody." B looked over the unfamiliar additions to the carvings while speaking. Then glanced up.
"Are you tired again? I told you to go to bed early last night. Why do you never listen?" He shook his head disapprovingly. "You should try doing the nap through out the day thing."

A huffed lightly and stuck his tongue out at B. How many times did B nag him to go to bed only to later have to drag him to bed because he fell asleep on his textbooks? Oh well, he couldn't help it, not really. B should know that. A was so devoted to keeping good grades he'd sacrifice anything. He just wanted to be somebody..
"Aren't naps bad for you? I read somewhere that now doctors are telling parents not to let their children nap in the daytime." He muttered, frowning. "Plus I have classes all day, I can't nap anyways."

"Well you get breaks. And I read about this thing where you sleep in total like 4 hours a day, where you sleep like 3 hours a night and then have equally timed naps during the day. They say it works just fine."
B explained, gesticulating a little with his hands to signify the numbers he gave out. "However it takes like months to adjust to and you have to go to sleep at the same time every nap." He sighed.

A frowned, unsure if he believed B was telling him the truth or if he was just trying to comfort him with something that sounded like fact. He sighed, leaning back against the tree, eyes falling shut.
"If I take naps will you take naps with me?" he asked, opening one eye to look over at him. "My sleep schedule is bad but so is yours."

"Sure." B laughed at the suggestion quietly. "Well at least I am not falling asleep after just waking up, so it's not all that bad. And I am the one who drags you to bed." Well drag was a bit of an exaggeration, he just nudged at A while A ignored him in favour of studying more.
"But I am more than happy to nap during the day with a good cause to it." Good cause being giving A enough sleep.

A smiled and gently, playfully nudged B. He was glad B would do almost anything he asked, even if it was silly, like taking a nap with him. Often times he felt so alone in Wammy's. He struggled with making friends despite his constant attempts at being social, so really B was all he had.
"Ah, that's true." He muttered, laughing. B was always the one who poked at A until he either gave in or B fell asleep himself. Even if he didn't sleep, A appreciated B's tries. "Well alright. We can start napping tomorrow."

"It's going to take awhile to adjust." B didn't mind messing up his sleeping patterns even farther, but A might mind since it will prevent him from getting studying done. "That's why I suggested to start next summer. No need to worry about timing and stuff like that. " However the first weeks of school weren't that important anyways, since everything that happened during them was review and explanation of what the new material would be about.

"I'll do my best.." A replied, running his fingers through his hair. Just as B figured, he didn't like the idea of missing out on studying, but it was clear his physical health was deteriorating due to his lack of sleep and if that ended up causing problems with his scores, he'd never forgive himself nor get over it. "How long are you supposed to nap?"

"20 minutes. Same time every day. Without postponing. So no I'll study for another ten minutes and then nap." B shrugged, glancing around before pulling out a knife from under the root branch and continuing one of the carvings he lefts there earlier, near the bottom of the root.
"Can you do that?" In all honestly he doubted it and saw himself nagging A to go to bed for these naps just like he was doing now with normal sleep.

A ended up on his stomach, laying his head on his arms to watch B. He always worked so seriously even with a small hobby like this. If this was a hobby for B at all and not just something he was doing out of boredom. Fear of being boring to his friend was one of A's main concerns.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he shrugged. "I can try to. It'll be hard to adjust to it but.. I'll see this as another assignment, so I'll work hard to do it and do it right."

Another assignment huh... B nodded a little, whatever A saw as an assignment usually got done to the best of his ability, and even if this thing was to help A, letting him view it as such, might help with the initial adjusting.
"Sounds good." It wouldn't surprise anyone anymore if B started skipping classes a little, he was half paying attention in them anyways, somehow still keeping his second place.

A yawned and settled in to get comfortable, nodding to B's reply. It would be easier for him if he viewed it like work. Being someone who constantly strived to be the best they could, it would be difficult for A to fail if he took on this task like he did everything else. Of course, that wasn't to say it'd be impossible or him to fail. If he, for even a moment, thought this would impact his grades, he would give it up.
"When's your first class again?" he asked, opening an eye. "You're not going to skip it are you?"

"Hmm...That sounds like a nice idea through. It's so boooooring." B dragged out in the most annoying voice he could master. Then glanced up at A, grinning a bit.
"Calm down, I am not going to go skipping classes. " He chuckled and placed the knife back under the root. "Let's go grab food, because class is in about thirty minutes and I prefer not being hungry during it."

A scrunched his nose in distaste at the voice B gave out. It was nasally and bothered him and B knew it. "Good, cause if you did, I'd tell Roger."
That of course, was a lie. A had never gone tattling to Roger or any teacher about B's bad habits. But teasing him was fun, especially if he was getting back at B for doing it to him.
"Alright. Where do you want to meet up after class?"

"No you wouldn't. Otherwise I'd be in much more trouble than I usually am." Luckily for B, not many other kids wanted to tell about his behavior either, so it generally went unpunished as long as his grades didn't suffer, because that would bring it up to the teacher's actual concerns.
"Well I will probably be able to find you in the library huh? Actually let's just meet there because it's going to be hot outside and it's going to be hell."

A made a noise that bordered laughter and a scoff. He rolled his eyes at B as he got to his feet, groaning a bit as his limbs had gotten stiff.
"Probably? You'll definitely find me in there. I'll be over in the history section today. I'm going to read up on Egyptian times again. I always find that bit of history to be pretty fascinating." He muttered. "See if you can sneak an apple in for me?" He added, batting his lashes at B.

"I can sneak a whole apple pie if you want that." B laughed, putting some grass over the little hole where the knife laid now. He never understood A's fascination with history, it's just reading about the dead mostly and trying not to repeat their mistakes, but he doesn't question it much.
"Can you imagine me sneaking an apple pie into the library?" It's an amusing image in all honesty.
